Intivix Teams Up With Bay Area FBI To Increase Cyber Security Awareness
What a great FBI cybersecurity event!
Intivix and CAL Insurance invited a cybercrime agent from the FBI’s Cybersecurity division. The agent’s presentation was informative and engaging – discussing the latest trends in cybersecurity and how businesses can protect themselves. We were grateful for the FBI’s contribution of the agent’s time and their timely information.
The event was attended by twenty-five business professionals representing the spectrum of Bay Area industries. We are thankful that they took the time out of their day to take in this important event.
Because we don’t want to see ANY company fall prey to cybercrime!
One of the highlights of the lunch and learn was the discussion panel. Experts in business cyber-security from the Intivix team and leaders in the insurance community such as Joe DeLucchi from CAL Insurance and Willy Sundjaja from Travelers Insurance led a wide-ranging discussion regarding the importance of cyber-security, cyber-security insurance, governance issues, and the impact of cybercrime on local business.
We are thankful to our sponsors, SonicWALL and Travelers Insurance for their assistance in making this lunch and learn possible.
What were the takeaways for business leaders?
Lots of great stuff like:
- The use of multifactor authentication for data access and vital apps.
- The very real dangers of using public networks – such as in coffee shops and public spaces.
- The truth that ransomware is hitting every industry sector – not just banking – so everyone has to be on guard and be prepared.
- The need for employee training on spotting and avoiding phishing attempts.
- The useful combination of proactive IT and disaster response with cyber-security insurance.
Rob Schenk, CEO of Intivix, said, “We were thrilled with both the turnout, interest, and participation of our guests for this FBI cyber-security event. The food was delicious, and I think everyone had a great time and learned a lot. It’s important for business leaders to be reminded that there are serious threats to their business online. It’s equally essential that those same leaders be given the information they need to make the best technology and strategic decisions for their company. The Intivix team is glad to provide this kind of guidance to our community business leaders, and cyber-security protection and management to our clients.”
