The iPhone 6 was a much anticipated release from Apple – but for the first time ever Apple has release two phones at the same time: The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. So which one is for you? Here is what you need to know about the new iPhone.
Throughout the years, the biggest complaint about the iPhone has been the size of its screen. This time around, Apple is telling it’s customers that their complaints were heard loud and clear. Not only have they offered a phone with a larger screen with the iPhone 6, but the iPhone 6 Plus offers an even larger screen. The iPhone 6 has a screen that is 4.7 inches while the iPhone 6 Plus has a screen that is 5.5 inches. The screen on the iPhone 6 Plus brings the iPhone in direct competition with other phones on the market, the majority of which have larger screens. The larger screen can accommodate 6 rows of app icons.
Another common complaint about previous iPhone models is that the battery life doesn’t measure up. Apple has addressed this concern as well, and according to Apple the new iPhone 6 offers 14 hours of talk time, or 250 hours on standby. If that isn’t enough for you, the iPhone 6 plus boasts 24 hours of talk time, or 384 hours on standby.
The new iPhone design is similar to previous models, with its curved corners. The phone itself is much sleeker and it is comprised of a metal backing with a glass screen. It is also very lightweight. The physical appeal of the phone is enough to make the upgrade.
The iPhone 6 also includes a barometer which is useful when using your iPhone as a pedometer. Apple has also released an app called Health. Health is an app that is specific to the iPhone and utilizes all of the iPhone 6’s features to compile data in to a dashboard. It features the “Healthkit” tool that compiles all of the data from other health and fitness apps.
Lastly, Apple users have been hoping to share games and music throughout multiple Apple accounts for some time. This is another feature that was added when they rolled out their new iOS 8 – which is included on the iPhone 6. For the first time, you can share items in your Apple account with up to 6 other devices, which will comprise your “family” of Apple accounts.
